This new project about aid development undertaken by Praxis in Estonia and 8 organisations from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia provides awaited reference material on the status of implementation of international/ bilateral trade regimes with ODA recipients and the current role of civil society and private sectors as development actors in the new EU member states. Amongst other things, the project documents and provides a creative analysis of the trends in trade and attitude among businesses towards the Millennium Development Goals, and the variety of advocacy efforts used to enable the not-for-profit organisations in our target countries. It is an important resource not only for civil society itself but for anyone concerned with development cooperation and aid effectiveness.

In Estonia, the two main development actors are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Aid Development Unit and the Estonian Roundtable for Development Cooperation (AKÜ), an independent not-for-profit coalition of NGOs that work in the field of development cooperation or have expressed interest towards that topic. The analysis will be carried out in close cooperation with both institutions. The team includes Kristina Mänd (Praxis) as the project co-ordinator and Andrew Rozeik, Riina Kuusik-Rajasaar and Triinu Püvi as experts.  Evelin Andrespok will join the team as well.
