The EuroDRG project aims to systematically identify and assess the importance of structural factors on national and hospital level in order to explain variation in costs within and between European countries in a systematic way.

For empirical analysis 10 “episodes of care” were chosen for comparison of actual classification, reimbursement, factors, explaining cost variation and cost-quality relationship. Conclusions for policy-makers within and beyond European countries were made.

Praxis looked into the variation in costs on hospital level, collected quantitative data and analysed it.
