The aim of the project is to strengthen the Moldovan health care system by sharing Estonia’s experience with services relating to the e-country. Moldova has to be aided by building their capacity to develop practical e-solutions. The project is also aimed to support Moldovan e-health strategy development in line with the development of the country’s health system and information society.

The following project events can be outlined:

  • In October 2012 an introductory visit to Moldova took place, where meetings were held with the Moldovan Health Minister, the TaskForce Group, and representatives of medical institutions and specialties. Several key organisations connected to the implementation of e-health were visited.
  • In November 2012 a study visit to Estonia was arranged for the essential stakeholders in Moldovan e-health. Estonian experts gave an overview of how Estonia implemented the e-services in the health care system.
  • In May 2013 a policy dialogue took place in Chisinau, where further plans in e-health were discussed and the e-health status outside the borders of the capital was also investigated.
  • In August 2013 an action workshop and consultation visit took place in Chisinau and during the workshop different stakeholders discussed further plans in the e-health department. The final result offered descriptions of possible services relating to e-health that could be implemented in Moldova and which would be compatible with the country’s developments in e-health and health care system. The PDF report next to this article gives a more accurate overview of the results.

The project was led by Praxis in co-operation with leading experts and organizations from Estonia and the Ministry of Health of Moldova.
