Mirjam joined the program of economy and sustainable development in 2022. In her earlier studies she focused on responsible research and innovation in education and new learning paradigm in the context of ahhaa-like school. She has supervised several bachelor and master theses on topics such as sustainable development, educational technology and new learning paradigm. She has used both qualitative and quantitative methods in her studies, but she has especially been involved in the qualitative studies.

Mirjam obtained her B.A. from the University of Life Sciences in natural resource management, M.A. in biology teacher and PhD in educational research from the University of Tartu. She has been an exchange student in Leibniz University Hannover.

Mirjam has a strong background working and leading national and international projects. She has worked as a trainer and lecturer for over ten years. She enjoys working with human beings and values teamwork. She is fluent in English and speaks German and Russian on the primary level.

In her spare time, she likes to let creativity grow in ceramics workshops, practice Pilates or travel around the world. She has a nature garden where she experiments with the flower meadow and permaculture principles. She also enjoys trying new recipes and finding clever and sustainable ways to use seasonal food.
