Mariliis joined Praxis as a Behavioural Policy Analyst in November 2021 and leads the Health programme as of March 2022. She has MSc in Public Health from University of Tartu and PhD in Behavioural Sciences from University of Cambridge. During her PhD, she assessed the impact of a parent-oriented alcohol prevention program in Estonia, and researched the impact parents’ attitudes have on children’s alcohol use.

Before joining Praxis, she worked as a Chief Scientific Officer at a start-up that aimed to prevent mental health issues among low socio-economic groups in the UK. Also, Mariliis worked at the Estonian National Institute for Health Development for ten years, where she focused on children’s risk behaviour prevention. Mariliis is fluent in English, and she can speak in German to some degree. In her free time, she likes to hike, read, play board games, and do sports.
