This study focused on developing study opportunities in the North Eastern region of Estonia. The aims of the study were:
- provide an overview of educational institutions providing a workforce for the major enterprises in the region; what educational background do those young people have that seek employment through the Estonian Labor Market Board or through individual contacts; what are the needs of enterprises in regards to educational training; what are possible internship and employment opportunities;
- provide a vision of how the cooperation of educational institutions and enterprises should function
- make recommendations on how to improve current educational provisions in the region (new curricula, improved curricula, new forms of learning).
The study was commissioned by the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research. The project was carried out in partnership with the University of Tartu Narva College, Tallinn University of Technology Viru College, the Polytechnic School of Kohtla-Järve and Narva Vocational Education Center.
