The project regards restructuring as collective redundancies and the framework surrounding them. The aim of the project was to describe a) the legislative and institutional framework connected to the collective redundancies; b) the different parties connected to those redundancies and their role in the process; c) the country’s best practices, methods or measures. In addition, the aim is to give an overview of the main challenges and discussions regarding the collective redundancies in the context of the economic crisis. 27 member states of the European Union took part in the project.

As a result of the project, a seminar on the subject of collective redundancies was carried out in every state and a report was compiled to describe the situation and background of each state. The Estonian seminar took place in January 2010.
