The national state of emergency  of COVID-19 gave impetus to the implementation of remote sensing. Today, many healthcare professionals and patients have first-hand experience of remote reception service. The Estonian Health Insurance Fund collected feedback on the experience gained from remote care practitioners and patients: from patients through online surveys; from managers / representatives of medical institutions during meetings and telephone interviews; by telephone interviews from specialists. Medical bills were also monitored and medical documents were checked, and in cooperation with professional associations, the experience of specialists in the implementation of remote reception in support services (speech therapy, physiotherapy, psychology) was collected.

The aim of the analysis is to conduct a case study of the experience of implementing remote reception in an emergency situation in the Estonian health care system. The case study is an input to use the experience of the emergency situation in the best possible way for the further development of remote services.
