For the last 9 years, Liina has analysed collective labour relations and social dialogue of different sectors in Estonia and hence has a great knowledge of local trade unions and employers’ organisations. Liina’s research interests include active ageing policies, opportunities for older workers, barriers to the labour market, and policies aimed at extending working life. In 2016-2017, Liina spent half a year in European Gender Equality Institute where she participated in the compilation of Gender Equality Index 2017.
In addition to her analyst work, Liina has long-term international experience in project management and has taken first steps into training. Participating in international projects has given her skills to adapt quickly in diverse working environments, working independently as well as a part of a team. Liina is aware of all of the requirements and legal acts for the work environment and is a work environment specialist in Praxis.
Liina has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Tallinn University of Technology, where she looked at the flexicurity (flexibility and security) in Estonian labour market for older workers. She is a member of the Estonian Social Work Association and started being interested in social policy already before her university career. As a volunteer at the Festival of Opinion Culture, Liina has helped to organise talks and discussions on social topics. She can speak English and conversational Russian.
